Thanks for the interest. I should be picking it up at the end of the month. It is virtually finished. Down to just a little bit of electrical wiring.

If you stiil have that rear bumper setup for sale please pm me. I need something to fit a 39.5x18x15 Bogger. I was thinking about building one, but if it is available. I am picturing how that would work on my 1985 4runner.

Great truck by the way.

We are only limited by our imagination...

Now that you have picked it up and driven it, how does the Hushpower muffler sound with the 3.0?? And of course, how does it drive (if you have all the bugs worked out...)?

Thanks

hupptoy

edit: BTW, I read thru the entire buildup thread on PBB and have to say your truck is awesome.

I am going to re-work the bumper unless I could get more than $300 for it. I paid $800 back in '99.

The muffler is not as mellow as the Borla. (I really liked the sound of my Borla cat-back) It is louder for sure but not annoying. It sounds much more "open" and I think it really is much less restrictive. The motor seems to rev a little quicker, but still not quite as quick as stock since I have the heavy flywheel. But the main reason I used this particular muffler is its compact design and "claimed" "cool to the touch" technology. I have a lot of wiring, looms, and air lines running under the truck and I was really worried about the heat from the exhaust damaging all of that--but not anymore.
After running the motor for about 10 minutes just driving around my neighborhood, the rest of the exhaust warmed up normally but the muffler still felt cool to the touch, cold even. Honestly, I did not really expect that.

Seriously folks.
This build has taken a lot out of me. It has taken an unbelievable amount of research and problem solving that just does not stop. And obviously it has been expensive too. In the end I think it will be worth it but sometimes I just have to take a break. I have two big wheelinig trips planned for June and July in Colorado so I will have to have everything finished by then.
I have to sort out the rear bumper and build two skid plates (gas tank and belly) and a few more little things...but I will get there.
I have been enjoying this site more and more.
Thanks for the encouragement!

Post #439 is "all up". You may have to page through a bit.

he lives in montrose too, hes smart too, if you read the build up it seems he didnt have too much trouble with getting everything lined up, and its just sweet even for a street queen which its not.
