3vze Distributorless Conversion
#2
Well, Toyota did......sorta. Some later versions of the 3VZFE(which was little more than a 3VZE with twin-cam heads that they put in the 92-95 Camrys)came in a distributorless configuration. I'm no expert on that engine so don't quote me on that though.
It may be possible to fit that system directly, or with some modifications, to a 3VZE. I haven't heard of it being done, but would be very suprised if nobody else has thought about it.

There is no 3VZ ever made without a dizzy.
The 3VZFE was made from 92-93 for the Camry/ES300 and used a distributor. When Toyota redesigned the 3VZFE into the 1MZFE in 1994, they switched to non-distributor ignition, instead relying on cam and crank angle sensors.
The 3VZ has no provisions for a cam OR crank angle sensor, so it would be pretty difficult to make something like that work.
