Well, you're right, Freddy. Same pulse for both. So, if you're getting spark, then I suppose it's not a problem with the distributor. Dang. Time to test the ECU driver circuits, then.

#10 and #20.
It wouldn't hurt to verify distributor signal at the ECU, either.

So, I'm dying to know.......who was the culprit that crossed into the forbidden bolt zone, eh???
I'm very glad for you that's a reman'd Denso unit. I have one in my '86 4rnr/22re. It's been very good for two + years now. Thanks for the pics!!
And, Freddy, the "slapping" method is probably adequate enough to tell you the ECU's going south. But, make sure it's not just the connection, eh.

haha Thook, you were my hero. I must have damaged something when I tightened the bolts back up. oh well, its all said and done now. and I got the unit for cost! ( toyota charges 600 for brand new ones! ) Im happy with my shiny new reman'd unit. for 180.
by the way, this whole thing cost me 610 out of pocket. they replaced the coil for no reason, but oh well. truck runs better than before I brought it in. tune ups are wonderful, next time i'll try and keep it in the 200 dollar range? lol

Lol thanks... :/
Nah, wrenching is fine. I dont mind it, but when it fcomes to electrical, im highly confused if its not plug n play... I couldn't even install my stereo! I could only do the deck. lmao terrible. The headers were done correctly, I spent 2 and a half days to make sure they were! I just forgot to bolt down the EGR... lol nothing wrong came of it. still passed smog, still ran, etc etc... just was making a ticking noise.
