1 3/4" may restrict a little bit, but I didnt notice any change because of it, i dont know a whole lot about exhausts either. After about a week of driving the sound increased a little, but not much. The video I posted was after a couple days of driving and the sound really didnt get much louder than that.

as for your guys exhaust question, the cat is going to obviously be more restrictive then the pipe, even though the pipe is smaller.. so the flow will not be effected too much by the smaller diameter. but truth be told, a free flowing exhaust is very important on the 3vze. the cross over has enough back pressure to keep the motor happy by itself, add in a small stock exhaust and you get dangerous EGT's at the collector. I think this is the main reason the 3vze has head gasket and valve problems..
