36/15.5 tires on 4-5inch lift
Can a set of 36/15.5 tires fit on a 2nd Gen 4runner with a 4-5 Inch Lift kit with 3.75 inches of backspacing? Also would they fit with 2inch tire spacers and would that help them fit or make it worse? Thanks in advance.

I'm sorry you got so little help on this. I'll throw a few constructive things out there to think about...
2" wheel spacers are probably not a good idea, I won't say it won't work, but your putting a lot of extra stress on your wheel studs, wheels, hubs and lug nuts. The spacers would actually help you clear the wider tire but depending on how you want to use the truck they may not be durable at all.
Let me ask why you want tires that wide? Not saying its a bad idea, just thinking you may not need something that extreme? Unless your trying to use the truck for deep snow or swamps I just don't see the need for that width.
I wanted something that would be unstoppable in the sand so I put on 33x12.50s and I they are splendid. I rarely use 4wd even. If I had a locker I don't think I would use 4wd. Our trucks are so light to begin with that a tire that wide easily floats over most surfaces.
If your just after that size to be different, your probably on your own for how to accomplish it, I can't imagine many others have done it. I'm sure having said that 5 people wall yell about how they did it back in '89, but you get my point.
Any how, i'm interested in what your up to, lets hear about it.

you in hawaii? Ha... sounds like something I'd see rolling down the highway in Hawaii.. wait ... you would and do see that on all their highways lol
2" Wheel spacer isn't that CATASTROPHIC people.. Get your heads out of your butt holes. Theres nothing wrong with a 2" wheel spacer, structurally.. Did you all forget Toyota's are 6 lugs? Overkill to begin with, thank you Japan!
As for the wide tire... not my thang but hey if it floats your boat, cool!
Without the wheel spacers you're going to find some issues with the inside of the tire hitting the frame/body (upfront).
Other issues? Well, IFS won't like that big 36" tire.. being a 15.5 its going to be HEAVY.. and as far as your weak IFS stock front end is concerned, thats too much.
You're going to blow CV's like a mofo and your steering is going to be a big issue.. Idler arm? Ha... toast. Well atleast its going to bend as far as the frame allows it too.. haha
goodluck man

You'll probably need a little more than just the 4" bracket lift to run those tires. Throw in a 3" body lift with it and you might be ok. You might still have to trim a little but it would be close. I doubt you do much hardcore wheeling anyway.
You're probably going to need 5.29 gears if you do it though.

4" bracker lift with 3" body lift = SCARY RIDE in my opinion, but to each their own...
and yea, you CAN fit 36's on a 4" bracket lift, but you will need to crank the hell outta the T-Bars... then your ride is gone... and you will prolly have to trim the fenders for 36x12.5R15s...
also, consider this, when i ran my 32X11.5R15s on my stock front suspension, it rubbed on the rear of the fender at full lock... consider what wheel spacers will do... yea, they will space the wheel out, but you are gonna be 1-4 inches wider... you will SEVERELY limit your turning radius without taking out your front bumper/valence in the process...
many things to think about... just consider this, theres reasons why most people dont run setups like your talking about...
and ill point you in a direction to get you started deciding what lift is good for you...

From my experience, the 4" bracket 3" bl combination was fine.
Now on the other hand, the 4" bracket, 3" bl, 1.5" bj spacer was scary. Once I took out the bj spacers it rode great.

Yeah im not looking to build a rockcrawling rig. Im more looking to make my stock 2nd gen runner be capable of some real offroading. The lift i was thinking of getting is a 4-5inch suspension lift by Rough country ( http://www.roughcountry.com/suspensi...r_90-95_5.html ). Id also add coil spacers. I was considering the 15.5 wide tires to make the vehicle look balanced. I think some vehicles look strange with their skinny tires and huge lift like i could just flick them over. I think 2 or 3 inch tire spacers would also look strange with 15.5 wide tires on a 4runner, i was just theorycrafting. Yeah the Toyotas have 6 bolt hubs which are very strong especially with newer aftermarket bolts.

lets think about this for a second guys! SR5 i seem to recall a butt load of people running wheel spacers all day long on long arm trucks in the rear. it looks dumb when their front wheels stick out 6 inches longer on both side than in the rear. i say go for it and if you get them to fit put it back up here and get everyone to say "oh man howd you do that i was gonna do that next week" i say go for it dude hopefully it works.

save your money on the bracket lift it just lifts the stock suspension 4" higher, only thing it does is make more room for tires, you still have ALL ur IFS crap hangin down there to get hung up in the mud/sand whatever, no gained articulation or travel, go Blazeland about the same as a bracket lift but has more suspension travel and you wont have to drop your front diff go to blazeland.us check it out

To to OP:
I hope you didn't take my original comments as critissism, I was just pointing out some things to think about.
I would actually love to see you do this and post some pictures!
On the topic of the 4" bracket and 3" body lift, I don't think that would be an issue at all, simply becuase the tires you are putting on, with the needed wheel spacing to fit them, is going to widen your stance so much that the higher center of gravity likely won't even be noticed.
My truck with 3" of suspension lift is much more stable than my hunting partners truck because I'm running 33x12.50s with 15x10 rims and some extra back spacing, an inch or two I think. It all results in a stance which is like 6 inches wider than his.
