35's no lift

I did a BL to clear a 3.4 swap. Side effects: 1.) easier to get the trans. mounted 2.) replacing rear shocks and springs was a lot easier 3.) now I have more room to flex the rear once I get 33's. 4.) I like the stance now.
Down side: 1.) aftermarket bumpers will not fit without modification 2.) wife complains on height 3.) modded my shifters for the BL, didn't get it done right, and now shifter's are jacked 4.) you will tear the rubber boot around the shifters when you do a lift (or at least I did)

So far I see one truck with 35's and no lift.
It looks like it rubs like mad!
A local guy here is running 35's with no lift on his 4runner.
To give you an idea of how much he cut out:
Stock:
Cut/hammer (fender removed for access):
A couple patches:
Finished fender well tubbing:

On the other hand some combo of body lift, hammer love, t bar adjustment, BJ spacers, and sawzall might make this work.
Just don't want to see another 3'' body lift guy with no other mods braggin about how his truck is magically more capable because HIS SEAT IS HIGHER UP, but he left his frame sitting on the ground.
And yes the point of any lift is to fit bigger tires for more real clearance. But a sawsall does that. And without sacrificing stability. Theres no reseon to jack the body 3'' in the air besides trying to look cool.

Im still stock on 35s. It rubs a little, so what. Its not hurting anything. Just grind everything smooth. Wheels great, and is super stable.

These are 33's with no lift, and chopped fenders.

I never wheeled it this way, but I did drive it around town for a couple of days before my SAS... 36" TSLs with about a 1" lift shackle in the rear and bj spacers up front. Some cutting and hammering could have made it work.
For comparison, 37" MT/Rs with SAS using 3" trail gear junk:
