33x12.5 Goodyear MTR Stock Wheels + No Lift = Possible?

I put pics for the suspension clearance. But body is different and all the ones that have posted pics in this thread, there is no front valance which can be an issue !!!! Also I don't see front mudflaps either. Another issue.
And both have a body lift. I do not. And no BJ spacers either. So I guess so far I am the closest one to what he was looking for, but something tells me the 89-95 body style has larger fenderwells, but not 100% certain. I have never measured them.

the ones i posted are the best i got, ill have to take some more.
my wheels are are aluminum and have stock offset.
The only thing they rubbed on was the plastic fender liner because it kinda hung down.
But That being said i have never had a lower valance on my truck
and that brings a good point that i never noticed.
and im apologizing for my bad pics in advance (both cameras are broke so i gotta use my phone)

I think it all comes down to the back spacing. Xxxtreme is the closets to stock that pulled it off.
I fit 33x12.5 with a 1.5" body lift and slightly rub at full lock under compression. 15x8 rims with 3.5 back space, I believe but not sure.
Greg, that truck looks awsome!! You sure theyre 12.5 and not 10.5? They look a little narrow to me.
Another thing to consider is different tire manufacturers have different actual tire sizes than the size advertised.

Found a crazy deal on a set of Goodyear MTR's, 33x12.5 with just about 75% tread, only wanting 150cdn fplus my 31x10.5 BFG All Terrain tires, now I need to know if its possible to run that size with no lift for now. What do you guys think? I found one guy running that size on stock wheels and no lift.

Ah if I had only known it was possible........ damn.
OP: Anything is do-able just depends on several factors. Backspacing, actual tire size, worn/new suspension parts/ etc.
I'm running 285/75/16's (about 33.4/11.ish/16's) and they rubbed all over the place until I did some cutting/pounding. My issue is I paid for wheels of a certain backspace and got the wrong ones after payment was made.... added some spacers and I rub less but on full lock I rub like a fat chick in slacks, minus the static.
Mount the tires, run it, flex it and trim/pound where you need to. Oh and have fun.

How about some pics with the tires at full lock (and stuff, if available), and then some pics of the modification you had to do to make it happen. That should give a more realistic idea of what people should expect is required for off-road clearance on big tires.

He didn't ask about that. He asked if it was possible to fit a 33x12.5 with no lift.
It is.
However, for others searching, here are the modificaitons required:
Firewall clearance and re weld.
A arm trimmed and plated with 1/4" plate:
Complete 1/4" DOM steering, with a modified total Chaos idler arm, and FJ80 TRE's
Finally, 1 1/2" wheel spacers are needed to keep the tires off of the steering box and idler arm, since they are now pushed forward 2 or 3 inches.
It did really well offroad
Again, there is NO LIFT on the truck. But, it is very heavily modified. (or Was)

Only picture I have of it stuffed, not a very good one at that! But you get the idea.
Pay no attention to the unfinished bumper or the very high mockup stinger, (ended up much lower with rounded corners - and still not finished, maybe it will when its on the 85)

Totes Migotes.. I've ran some 33's on a stock 87 before. Only rubbed a little if I was articulating while turning. I tried 35's, not as easy. I guess it would have been ok for the road if the pinch welds were trimmed.

Works well off road. Only rubs on frame/ps box, so I cant turn full lock. Im also on a 16" rim which might help.
Id be careful with those 36s, TSLs weigh a lot more and are quite a bit bigger then these procomps.

I would just get them. They will fit but will probably just rub when pulling into tight parking spots.
It would be good if you had another set of rims for the new tires so you can try them on and see how they drive. If you like them then keep them on if not just store them until you can get your lift.
If money is tight id check on Craigslist for a used set. Theres alot of people selling there factory rims for pretty cheap. I actually picked up a set of 15X8 rock crawler style rims in good shape for $30. They just need some new paint
