My 22R-TE (which has much lower compression than your RE, plus burns more fuel when it gets into boost) would get 18mpg around the city on 28s and stock auto.

It dropped horrifically to around 13mpg. I changed the plugs, cap, rotor, timing and O2, and it went back up.

Cool Try this

try this! Go to the dollar tree and get a bottle of Fuel injector and carborator cleaner. The tank after the tank I put it in got better mileage and increased more after that. Also the general maintenance and tire pressure. Also try accelerating slower. It might piss off some people but you should get better gas mileage. I have a 99 and I normally get 18mpg city and 22mpg highway.(after that cleaner) I suggest you use it every 2 months. Let me know if this works! thanks

Alrighty based from whats in the thread i'll replace the old O2 sensor. The trusty 1 wire lol. Looks like its been there for at least 100,000 of the 284,000 thats on it.

I never got a chance to check timing or the chain or anything...Will do this week was out drinking my life away all weekend lol.

Also the injectors i just put in ohm'd perfectly and are low mileage.
