3.4 swap questions
OK, I see a lot about the 3.4 swaps on here now that I go digging. My question is, which of the two 3.-some-odd-liter motors has more motor upgrades and how do they compare for cost? As a lot of people will notice, I have been thinking about a rebuild, and now that I know I don't have to move engine mounts or swap trannies, this is looking more and more worth it...

The 3.4, stock, with the exhaust system tweaked (since you're swapping it, you might as well upgrade the exhaust) puts down far more power than the 3.0 ever will. You can spend a lot of money upgrading the 3.0, but in the end, its restrictive intake, poor head gaskets, and exhaust meltdowns aren't worth it.
Trust me, the 3.4 will keep you happy. If it doesn't, you can always supercharge it later on.

Exactly what I am looking into right now. Heres what I am finding new rebuilt 3.0 anywhere from 1300 to 2400.
New rebuilt 3.4 starts at 2400 and goes to 33-3500.
I have my motor completely yanked and dismantled 3.0 and am trying to decide to do all the work I can, buy a rebuilt one or go for the 3.4. I just dont know.
Good luck though.
Pete
