Run a cooler over a 2nd filter, then run a good filter in the stock location.

You did open it up, right?

Have your tried a pressure bath wash in kerosene?

I like, learned something new today. Mine also does not have an oil cooler, but now I will be on the lookout for one.

Just a reminder to folks that there are o-rings and a gasket in the cooler that are needed to keep the coolant separate from the oil. This is a place where a worn seal will allow pressurized coolant to get into the oil, so it's important to replace these seals periodically.

Yes, plenty of good info. I was wanting to add one of the larger oil filters to mine today and I have things in the way, so I'll be sticking to the hand sized one. But now I know how to add the second filter and will order the appropriate part from Toyota and have a stab at it.

Thanks to all.
