2wd pu lift, help?
im lookin for a lift for my 94 2wd pu and its pretty tough. ive found a couple, but theres always something to hold me back. be it the price or the "technical notes" ex.-will not fit on 2wd with power steering. im just lookin for a nice kit that will give me some clearance and a nice ride. something i wont be afraid to go crazy in. jump some stuff or something. lol. its also a daliy driver. thing is, the price cant be way out there cause im going to ask for a kit for my b-day. i want to make it reasonable. any help would be greatly appreciated. thanks

btw, i have done my research, but the kits i can find are either way expensive, or not what i want. id rather have a suspension lift, but if need be im happy with a good body lift. anything?

well since a suspension lift is ideal for off road, and a lil 2 wheeler aint gonna do well off road, a body lift is in order.
the only difference in the body lifts between the 4 wheeler and 2 wheeler is the location of the front mounts on the core are different. but thats probly irrelevant.

i could completely tear that last one apart, but i will refrain. all im going to do is point out my first post. "jump some stuff" im pretty confindent that a suspension lift is probally going to help the jumping aspect of offroading. and this is also going to be a muddy truck. yea, a body lift can take care of clearing bigger tires, but im not planning on having huge tires either. and yes, if worst comes to worst i have looked at body lifts and have found a few i like enough to keep in mind. back to suspension lifts. lol

You need to look for PreRunner type of setup for your 4x2. I see people here give you a lip cause they can crawl
In Florida we do not have no places to crawl
So you have perfectly viable question and good oroject on your hands.
For starters I would look if you can fit IFS from 4Runner, less diff (I think you can buy junk cheap since many are doing SAS and trashing their setups together with control arms brackets) and put rear axle with elocker to the back. Or if you are loaded look at total chaos thingies for prerunners.
It would be very capable vehicle. It would not crawl but, it would fly.
Ah BTW when he says mudd, it is not real mudd just Florida mudd sitting on bedrock...

lol. i dig u on teh not real mud. but lemme tell ya, u can get plenty dirty. ever hit up c&r or mudfest at okeechobee? im lookin at spendin a weekend at c&r june 8-10 hopefully. id love to have a nicer set up by then, but hey, no promises. ive looked at the chaos stuff, and id love to have it, but ive got another 800 bucks to go for one of those. lol. aka basically the whole thing. but too true on the florida flat thing. oh well.

thats clay. anyways, regardless of what i may or may not be able to do in my 2wd pickup, i love the look of the total chaos long reach lifts. i cant rly find pricing on them though. i also cant find any other real long reach lifts. who else makes a good long reach kit that may be affordable by a teenage kid? and yes, i have a job, and yes, im most likely going to pay for most of it, if not more likely all of it. thanks much

now, once you recover from seeing the prices of these kits and realizing they are totally way over priced....do what i did:
ball joint spacer ($110) 1'' lift
torsion bar crank ($0) 2'' lift
4crawler body lift ($140) 2" lift
downey lift shackle ($70) 1.5'' lift
plus new wheels and tires and i still came in under a grand total.

first of, the torsion just pretends to be free. its rly closer to 70 bucks cause of the alignment. but thanks for the links. im rly lookin for something i can make look sick. a nice suspension lift and a body lift would be nice. if i can find something for under a grand that gets me like 6inches altogether then i might finish it all by the end of the summer.
