2nd gen magnaflow/glasspack question

I have a combination jardine cat-back exhaust with a magnaflow free-flow cat and 24" magnaflow muffler. it sounds good. however I am still experimenting- my questions is about glasspacks, has anyone combined a magnaflow muffler with a glasspack, I would be very interested to head about 2nd gen owners who have done this. also are all glasspacks the same or is there a tone and depth associated with each (quality comparisons etc)

I replaced the stock muffler with the longest glasspack I could find and thought the '95 was too loud. Plus, if you look inside a glasspack, there are baffles or louvres that intrude into the exhaust flow, making the inside diameter of your exhaust smaller and more restricted at that point. I replaced the glasspack with a 2.25 inch exhaust system and the longest Magnaflow I could get. The tone and loudness are just about perfect. Nice low, quiet growl...It seems like I got a little better gas mileage and the pep is still good years and miles later.

magnaflow/glasspack 2nd gen

looks like a glasspack will be restrictive...
do you think it would be a bad idea then to place a glasspack after my magnaflow muffler?
I am happy with the magnaflow sound outside...
but inside the sound isn't as satisfying. I was looking for a way to lower the sound and thought a glasspack after the muffler might be the ticket. just curious if this has been done...
OR...is there such a thing as a very short, round, muffler etc? I don't have a lot of room after the muffler before the tip
thanks a lot

I have a glass pack i love it its exactly the sound i was looking for. It makes my v6 sound like a v8 its crazy deep and not ricey at all like older toyota's sound like. It isnt that restricting considering if you look inside a manaflow or flowmaster muffler there is a ton of walls and stuff that baffel the sound but for the glass pack it runs straight threw. plus the point of a glass pack is once it gets hot like the engine warms up, it gets louder and less restrictive cause all of the glass hardens and lets the air threw easier. so i dunno thats just my point of view on things

glasspack/magnaflow 2nd gen

sounds awesome!!
is the glasspack your only muffler or do you have both a standard muf and glasspack as resonator

are all resonators glasspacks?

are there any really short resonators...I checked magnaflow's website and they don't list resonators seperately for some reason.

any links/threads where I can shop around for rezonators inline as well as tips would be great

thanks
T

I'm running a 12 inch glass pack with a 3 inch tail pipe and a 3 inch ecco tip. It sounds great. It is a little loud but thats only outside I can hardly hear it inside.

resonator

is it possible to buy just a resonator tip, or a really short resonator?
I checked the magnaflow website but they don't seem to sell just resonator tips-
I would like to keep the whole setup magnaflow if possible.
if you have model numbers or links that would be ideal
best

Check on ebay for something like a free flow cat or test pipe usually those are fairly short resonators. I have one of those and I want to take some sand paper or a wire brush to the polished finishe paint it black and leave enough raw metal to have it put on. Its not magnaflow but it would sounds pretty good.

I don't think MF makes resonators or tips. Go to a real muffler shop and tell them your story. They'll be able to give you some choices. If you're that sold on MF, you could always buy the longest one they make like I did, and have that one installed. If you get too fancy with the resonators and tips, you'll rack up enough bucks to equal a new, long MF.
