I have one more question, assuming I bought that bracket, would I be able to put a body lift for a 1st gen pickup on? A buddy is giving me his, and it seems like because they are just rubber pucks they would fit on anything, but I could be wrong.

What companies make a 2" bodylift for a 93 4runner? I just need some bodylift because i'm putting a 4.3 v6chevy th400 and np208 in my 93 4runner and 2inches should be enough for clearancing issue's. Who recomends what?

Unless you have some special requirements to add or subtract items. For an engine swap, not sure if radiator brackets are needed or not.

why a turbo 400? I had that in a 6000lb 3/4ton suburban with a th400 and it was rock solid but I wouldn't think you would need anything like that for a runner. Even a turbo 350 would be plenty strong and probably give you a little more room in there.

I would probably get the radiator brakets but i don't think any of the tranny shift stuff would do me any good. Does it come with new rubber body mounts?

yeah i agree with you on the th400 th350 but it's just what i happen to have come across for a good deal so i'm just gonna run with that. It's only like about 5 or 6inches longer.

hey guys, i have a 1991 4runner with ironman lift on KM2 33x12.5 , 4.88 gears and 3L ENGINE( 2.8 diesel).I came across a set of ss boggers 33x10.50 at a super price and i was wondering if i could use them with no issues or should i sell them ???
they wouldnt stay on all the time only when i go offroad.

Well depends on how hard you are wheeling! If i was you i would run em! I think you will be fine for moderate wheeling but really there is only one way to find out...

Hey guys... I know almost nothing about how to do a lift. I'm more of an engine guy. I am on a tight budget but would like to lift my 95 runner as much as possible. I probably can't spend more then $600 on everything. Im getting asian hubs soon though so that should help. anyway. what would you guys recommend as a very inexpensive lift? I think I saw a guy up in Estes Park colorado with a homemade 4 inch lift that looked strong but wasn't very clean looking. I wish I would have taken a picture. maybe when I go up there again ill look for it and post pictures of it on here. do any of you know how I could do something like what he did? he just had a welded piece of steel that was providing about 3 to 4 inches of lift with better shocks but that is it. I don't even remember where he had the piece. this is all in the front. how would you do the rear? just use the 80s series coils?

Maybe you can find someone parting out a 2nd gen with a lift on it or if someone has done a solid axle swap and has their old lift kit and can grab that, but a new "bracket" lift kit would eat up your budget maybe twice over. You need brackets to lower everything up in front.

Or put in some ball joint spacers and crank up the torsion bars as high as you can tolerate the ride and that is basically the lowest cost lift you can do up front (aside from just cranking up the t-bars):

Body lift's are pretty cheap,like 200bucks new for a 2 or 3 inch body lift. Or if you want suspensin lift save up some more cash. just my 2cents.

OK. So tell me if I've got this right. This is pretty much the setup/height/tire/etc combo that I'm after. This is a daily driver for me, so I'm not going after anything more extreme than this



I need:
FJ80 rear coils
1.5" ball joint spacers
ProComp ES9000 shocks (part #: Front 917514 and Rear 922506 )


I'm open to suggestions on this, of course But this will be mostly for occasional trips up north and some muddy/rutted trails. No rock crawling or anything hardcore. Just looking to fit 33x12.5s and get a bit more ground clearance. I'm thinking about a small 1" bodylift as well.

Also, I see people mentioning that if you get a "set" of FJ80 coils, that one side is 1/4" shorter. Can you just order two left or two right side coils from the dealer? Or do they only come as sets?

I'm thinking about a Rough Country 4-5" suspension lift kit. They specify wheels with 3.75" backspacing for a 33 x 12.50 tire. I would like to avoid the extra expense of new wheels. Is it possible to use stock toyota 15" wheels and maybe a 10.50 tire instead of 12.50? Thanks for any replies.

You should be fine with stock wheel. I was running 15x7 with 4" of backspacing and a 33x12.5 with NO lift. I had to hammer the pinch weld, but worked really nicely.

Thanks for the reply. My stock wheels are still in real good shape. I'm glad I wouldn't have to replace them if I get the lift kit. I don't like to get 'rid of things' just to have something newer.

The issue with the 4" bracket lift kits is the inner wheel/tire clearance with the suspension lift parts. So you might want to contact the lift vendor to find out for sure. If the clearance issue is with the wheels, then you would either need wheels with less back spacing or wheel spacers for the stock wheels. If the clearance is with the tires, then a 10.50 tire is about 1" narrower on the inside than a 12.50 tire, so that may be enough clearance.

4" lift is not required to fit 33s, especially 33x10.50s:

Thanks for reply and link. If I get a lift kit. I will definitely ask the vendor about wheel fitment. I may just get 33 x 10.50 's and just be done with it.
