Here's my junk with LC coils without BJ spacers. You can tell it sits quite a bit higher in rear. I'll be installing 2" spacers from wabfab someday.

So i posted it in a diffrent thread but this seems to be the one it belongs in. I wannt to know if you can get a coil spring for a 90 runner that is set up for 6 inch lift. I see fj coils being used for 3-4 inchs of lift. I currently have the procomp 4inch lift springs with 2 inch coil spacers. id like to eliminate the spacers. Is it possible?

    Just get FZJ-80 lift springs.

NOTE: you really need to make the links longer if running that much lift with the factory 4 link!

So i should get a 2-3inch lift spring from the FZJ-80?

THe procomp lift kit came with all kinds of link drops and brackets. not sure what other links you mean besides all the damn random parts i had to put on with that kit. Its a huge kit and took me 25 hours to do when it said install time was 8hrs. maybe im just a moron. but i hated that kit. never again.

i found on http://www.rocky-road.com/80series.html a set of OME springs. OME863J to be exact. THat are heavy duty 3in lift springs for the fj80s. Those be what i should rock for my 6 inch rear? 75 bucks a piece. not to bad. was 196 shipped.

That's how molly's truck was lifted originally to match the SAS up front ... SUPER unstable IMHO.

lil to wobbly around corners unstable? or breaks unstable? right now i have limiting straps on and keep them short so i dont flex in the rear insanly. keeps me on simple trails, im not a big mudder or rocker, more into just trails and creeks beds

(plus my fenders are hammerd or cut and the 35s are not so much going to fit at full stuff)

Wobbly ... wanted to unload BAD (resulted in her rolling it in Moab) ... eventually put a suck down winch in the back to help control it, but looking back, that was just a bandaid (a really cool bandaid though!) to the real problem of the suspension geometry and spring/shock rate issues.

I installed the following from trdparts4u.com onto my 1992 Hilux Surf:

2- OME901-Heavy load rear coil springs
2- OME 60020- NitroCharger Sport Shocks
    2- OME N98 -NitroCharger Shocks
    1- OMESD33 SteerStabilizer
1- CSS1 SDORI 2 INCH Coil spring spacer set
1- BJS1 SDORI Ball Joint spacer set

With the 2'' coil spacers the rear was close to 5 inches above stock. Way to high... So I took those off and even with the ball joint spacers and cranked torsion bars I'm still low on the front. I don't know how much more my bars can be cranked to compensate. I'm not too worried though as I'm adding another fuel tank which will help bring the rear down.

    Before.

    After.

    Johnny5,

Did you have to extend your brake lines? Thats the only piece of teh puzzle I haven't ordered yet for my Surf.

With those coils no, but it does stretch it out quite a bit. If your under there and have the time it would be a worthwhile thing to do.

okay question about the bracket lifts.......at first i didnt like the bracket lift idea for 2nd gens but now i look more and more at them and was wondering about the rear control arm drop brackets because if u see 4runners with these lifts it looks like a rather large rock or obstacle would destroy them while crawling over something cause they drop down so much.... i am particularly interested in the rough country lift because it is only 799 compared to all the other companies that are 1k and up. but the OME kit says you can 3-4 inches http://trdparts4u.com/Scripts/prodVi...dproduct=-7492 so im wondering if its worth it to get the bracket lift and drop the rear control arm so far when i can get the OME kit and a 2 inch BL and go bigger then the bracket without the bracket. sorry for all the questions haha, thanks

mine is a rough country bracket lift front 4 inch. works great make sure u add a good skid it keeps from ramming the front crossmember into rock and ramps over them. make it go from the bumper down to the member and back past the new rear member. on the rear i added 5 inch coils and modified the upper link arms into bannana shapes so that they wont hit the gas tank at full droop. i raised my lower shock mounts up to the axle to eliminate hangups on them and also to increase travel in the shocks. i lowered the upper track bar mount to keep it level to help eliminate rear steer. i also eliminated the brake equalizer by blocking off the return line and adding a elbow at the rear. works great

I ordered the 4 inch OME kit from trdparts and have a hard time believing that you can successfully get the front up four inches. Even with the ball joint spacers your counting on the torsion bars to get you up the other 2.5''. That being said the OME heavy duty coils plus 2'' inch coil spacers lifted my rear almost 6 inches from stock. I took the spacers out because there was no way I was going to get the torsion bars to compensate for that. If you want a 4 inch suspension lift I suggest you look at the rough country stuff. Or do a mild suspension lift and a 1 or 2'' body lift.
