2nd gen 4runner front license plate mounting
Hey all - since the only stupid question is the one unasked....
What hardware do I need to mount my front plate properly? I've got a 2nd gen 1994 4runner and I'm stumped. I've got two really old rusted out screws that are (barely) holding the plate up. I'd like to refresh these with something new but I can't seem to find anything online that matches. How does this system work...It seems like there is a rubber or plastic cone in the back that the screws go into.
(1) Why can't I find something similar online to buy? Everything I see online is the little small square things that fit into pre-threaded holes. I don't have any pre-threaded holes here.
(2) Say I was able to find a replacement for that rubber/plastic screw cone thing. How do I hod it steady so that it doesn't twist with the screw when I try to screw it in? Do I need to take the front grill off?

It should be 90189-06117. the body of the insert is square, but the face is round. Pulls yours out and compare to pictures online. just google the part number with the word Toyota included.
P.S. I'd try and scrape or power wash off that peeling chrome. That will give you a very nasty cut.
