Just go to a hardware store and pick up some bolts that you can fit a nut around.

I lost mine a while ago and this has worked out great for me.

Use some lock washers and you'll be good to go!

Probably M10x1.25 if the stud it fits on is about 3/8" in diameter.

Mine went walkabout so I ordered a new one from my local Yota-monger.
Here are the actual specs:
The Toyota part number is 90179-10132
Price was $1.68
It is indeed an M10x1.25 flare nut, taking a 15mm wrench.
The one they gave me is black-chromed.

Here's a link to a site with a pic of a similar nut, for those visually-oriented:

You know your gonna find that nut once you find out what size it is and replace it right?

At least that is usually what happens to me when I loose stuff like that.

I hope it was a typo but that is a flange nut not a flare nut.

Yes it is a M10x1.25 nut I buy them by the box from Pointe Products

when you work on these it is nice to have new hardware .

Because I lose this stuff all the time

I just replaced the starter on my '88 4runner with the 22RE engine. That nut took a 14 mm socket; same size as the bolt.

I did measure just so I was sure to have them M10x1.25 x40mm or it could be 45mm but it was one of those lengths

The size of the wrench doesn't tell you much. I suspect that the distributors selling "hardware store" nuts and bolts want to have a little more meat than really necessary, so I have found that I often have to step up one wrench size. The 8mm Toyota bolt that takes a 12mm wrench ends up being replaced with an 8mm bolt that takes a 13mm wrench.

Annoying (I'd like to think I only need a 10, 12, 14 and 17mm wrench to work on my truck), but c'est la vie.
