if you had a misfire for a significant period of time, and I don't necessarily mean a misfire you could hear or feel, just a subtle misfire / poor combustion in a cylinder, that could cause the converter to overheat (they don't like persistant over-rich fuel mixtures) and clog or even blow out and plug the muffler, either one of which would affect the exhaust 'note' or 'tone', sound, whatever you want to call it... or the way it sounds now is normal and the way it was before was abnormal. Hard to say.

hmm.. i need to find a engine with lower km's or a spare 22re fast

Gonna add that if you did something to the engine operation and didn't reset the ECU, that could cause some issues... as in the ECU thinks the engine is operating 'one way' and what you've done has made it operate 'another way'. You should always reset the ECU when you do things that can significantly effect the way it runs so that it can adjust to the new settings more quickly, and this takes some time for the ECU to adapt.

Yeah thats what i ended up doing. Drove her to the yota meet tonight and drove like a good girl.
