hahah yeah freeze plugs would be easier, but now I got to figure out what those are for. I still don't know what that one that looks like a "T" is for.
There IS more than 2 electrical connectors on that side though.
two off the top of my head are 1 for the oil pressure sender (i believe this is the brown one hanging in your photo) and one for the starter solenoid.
then there is that one that looks like a "T". which I still have no idea what it's for, but that one comes up alot.
There actually might be more on the 22R-E. Not sure what that grey one is going to though.

look at the very top of the picture, just to the left of the filter, there is one there.
now, as far as one in FRONT of the filter....not so sure.

How in the world does this plug not reach now?!!!
Removed the intake mani for a repair. Put everything back together and now this plug mysteriously doesn't reach by about 1 friggin in!!! Made sure there were no obstructions and had the shortest route. It's getting to the point that I'm questioning if it even goes there. But everything was labeled except this guy. And it looks obvious that it goes there. Now my truck won't start and I'm getting a code 12. Wtf? Does anyone know what this plug is for? and would it keep my truck from starting?

what does code 12 mean?
in my repair manual in says NE short or disconnect but the pos book doesn't tell me what the HECK NE STANDS FOR!!!! If I find you Chilton i'm gonna strangle you do death! i've tried to research it and i've found that it's either the knock sensor or the rpm signal but i don't know where these are. i have an idea though cuz...here just read my other dumb post @ https://www.yotatech.com/forums/f116...ch-now-226459/
any help in either thread is greatly appreciated. i don't really need all this exercise i'm getting riding my bike literally 100 miles a week! thanks!

the brown one? that goes to the oil pressure switch/sender that sits below the oil filter. your might not be brown. I think mine was black. it's a single wire.

IIRC (it's been ~5 yrs since I had a 22RE) there's also a single wire knock sensor connector near that area, maybe above the oil filter. Is there any possibility those 2 are switched?

Just to the left of the oil filter it looks like a sensor used to be there but not since I've worked on this truck. Would a code 12 keep the truck from starting?

Update- the starter wire came out of the plug. But now I have to put my old water pump back in cuz the new one is bad. Doesn't want to spin freely. Nothing seems like it ever wants to go like it should!
