22re and nitrous
I was seeing if anyone has had any luck running nitrous on a 22re, i am going to run a 50hp wet shot for a little extra kick at the dunes.
Right now i'm running, lc header, intake, doa head,2.5 cat back, inj. cleaned ,i've used nitrous many times on some of my rx7's so it isnt my first car on the bottle-

read history, so you dont repeat it. thats what my teachers have said
thats who i was thinking about
this is the kid who blew his motor

There is a tacoma with a blown motor, running a 125 shot.
First post is a 22re with a 75 shot.
Neither individual knew their head from a hole in the ground...
I absolutely think that a 22RE can handle a 75 shot of N20.... There are stock internal (cast) 22RTE's running 170-180 hp (wheel) which is in the same power range.
I've heard that the stock cast pistons are good for 200hp, but I can't confirm that. They're probably good for 200hp at reasonable combustion temps.
Doing n20 is just like doing a turbo or a supercharger. You HAVE to be darn sure of your timing and fuel situation. It's likely that the stock fuel pump can't spray enough fuel to support 200hp. You can get a walbro pump for under $100.
Would I try it? Sure, I'd do it just to prove it can be done - on your dime, my motor.. I'd also upgrade my fuel pump and run it on the dyno to make sure my air/fuel ratio is correct across the board, maybe run with a timing retard.
N20 isn't really any harder on your motor than any other high output upgrade (well, maybe if you push the button at low rpm and build massive cylinder pressures). It simply needs to be installed and used correctly.... It's like bolting a small turbo on to a 22RE with no other mods, it's not going to last long unless you make other supporting changes.
