22re goes dead past 1/4 throttle
Hi all, My uncle just got through doing a complete rebuild on his 22re. It has been running fine for about 2 weeks now and the past couple of days has went to hell. It will crank and run at idle just fine. When I give it gas past 1/4 throttle it goes dead. I changed the AFM and still does it. Unplugged the TPS and it idles very high. If its cold it will run fine and when it warms up thats when it starts doing this.
I have searched here and google with no help. I would really appreciate any help you guys have.

It doesn't throw codes all the time. It will only throw a code every once in a while. Next time it starts throwing codes I will check em. I made a mistake by saying it only did it with the engine warm. It does it all the time. Last night I had it idling and tried disconnecting the afm and it would idle very high. Then the next time I did it, it wanted to go dead.
The throttle body has a leak around it. Don't know the correct term for it but its where the throttle cable connects to it. It's leaking around the rod that goes into the throttle body. Do they make a seal kit that I could buy for this or would I need a whole new throttle body. I would like to fix it just to see if that's it. We tried a junk yard throttle body and it does the same thing.

What year truck is this?
Don't know anything about that leak..maybe a pic would help?
The code doesn't have to be displayed to see what it is. The ECU stores the codes so you can pull them later.

What you are describing sounds like it may need adjustment. Normally when they are out of adjustment the truck idles high and when hitting the gas it will die due to the fuel air ratio being incorrect.
As far as the leak is concerned bass is right, we do need a picture.
It may also be the leak not allowing the computer to read the correct mixture.
