You check the intake pipe between the MAF and the intake? any holes or loose clamps? I've seen a couple od split pipes cause this

yeah, i guess i should re check it and make sure the pipe has none.

I did test the maf with a voltmeter and i made sure the door was free moving.

Timing was way off, i am thinking it jumped a tooth. Can i just adjust the dist. or do i need to do the timing chain?

check your MAF again

Check your air flow meter in the maf. Pins E1 and Fc act to switch the fuel pump on after you release the key. the resistance ='s infinity if therer is no air flow, ='s 0 ohms if there is air flow. Maybe this is why the fuel pump turns off when you release the key. There's a good discussion about this subject at the toyota 4runner and pickup cheap tricks page. Me
