22r grounds

Where are all of the grounds on the 22r motor? I know where they are on a 22re but not on the carbed motor.

I have one from the battery to the fender area and one to the front of the block. I'm not sure if there's one from the motor to the frame.

You can see it there with the ground cable running straight across right below the motor mount

Thanks, that's the only two I could find, didn't know if I was missing one or not. Thanks for the pictures as well.

I cringe when I see temporary terminals clamped to loose stranded wire. It makes for a poor long term electrical connection. In a worse case situation, it can lead to intermittent no starts/ starter clicks problems. http://www.crankshaftcoalition.com/w...-_no_hot_start Also you have a ground from the back of the head to the firewall.

Red face

If your talking from your negative battery for the most only the one to the block and the one to the inner fender

I could never figure out why the one goes from the head to firewall they are so small most seem to get removed before I see the vehicles

Quite a few other ground points on the vehicle there is a thread floating around here some place

Get some good terminals on there Those emergency ones are just for if something breaks on the way to the quicky mart.

As I understand it, it does act as a ground but its main purpose is to help bleed off any electrolysis due to and aluminum head and a steel block will create between each other.

I have a friend that is far more knowledgeable then me on these trucks and he has showed me some heads where the water jackets were really rotted away in the head and he says a big cause of that is the head to firewall ground strap missing is a big cause for that.

I do know when you get different metals in contact with each other, they will start fighting each other in a form of electrolysis.
