22r to 22rec ???
I put a "camper" cam in a 22r. Engine wise, does this install by itself constitute a conversion to a 22rec?
The reason I'm asking is that after the install of the "camper" cam, I failed the state emissions test... and I'm wondering what I might need to be doing differently with this new cam to get it to pass? The tech sheet from Comp Cam says I need .010 and .010 valve lashes... I'm wondering about if ignition timing needs to be change as well.
Thanks
-Ted

No it does not. 22rec constitutes a California emissions 22re, which is an EFI 22r. Why you failed was probably because timing is off as is valve lash, making more exhaust than "acceptable" for wherever you are.
