22r to 22re swap

I'm new to this site but not to yotas. However this is my first swap. I have a 94 with the 22re that runs and drives but the frames roached but I have an 86 short box with a good frame and not motor was not wired for efi. What's all need to swap over? (Fuel tanks ect) also what's a simple hacked wire harness. Just want the basics no lights needed yet maybe a push button start

The whole engine harness can come with the motor and the ecu. Then pull the harness from the ecu to the fuel pump and rear lights. Get the gas tank with pump in it. Move everything over. The bigest part it the dash harness with the cor relay and stuff. I would just rip it all out of the 94 and put it in the 86. Not a fast swap, bit of work.

Thanks for the reply. That was my original plan until i saw that the previous owner hacked up a bunch of the wire harness. I have stray wires everywhere so I was just wondering how or if I could get it to just get power to the motor and fuel delivery

Its like 3 harnesses and you need them all for the FI to work. Not easy like a carb.

what about using the long block from the 92 and putting all of the carb stuff onto it.

I considered that but I want to be able to go full verical and play in the sandpits with out it flooding out. And the carb can get cold blooded during Minnesota winters

you can do a search without registering or posting... sometimes doing a google search on pirate is better, just add pirate4x4 at the end of your search term.

i think that you'll need a return line going back to the tank? need to move it over along with the efi tank.

there is a lot of work to be done before you can even hook up the wiring.

efi fuel tanks typically have a ring inside of the tank that acts like a temporary reservoir, the fuel pickup sits inside of it, i think that you are on the right track here.
