I believe it was out of an 01'.
It matches up decently with the 4runner console, you may have to do a bit of filing but i kinda just snapped it into place.
3 of the 4 screws line up around the shifter surround (NICE!).

My ideal cupholder mod would be a full centre console from a taco, but they were wayyyy too much ($200-250 usually).

Yup, heated seats . Also a stock fog switch, just have to install/wire up the rear e-locker switch and i'll be happy

Which console is this?

I hoaxed the folks over on Saabcentral where I moderate, with this cup holder I pretended to have made from an old cd drive and installed in my '84 C900 turbo. They totally fell for it for a while. Made out that it was all wired up to a switch on the indicator stalk for opening and closing

Here's my temporary solution to a permanent issue!

Here you can see how it works...

Here it is in place... A bit of velcro and it won't go anywhere...

All it is, is a bit of electric fence wire and a wood block cut to fit the crap holder in an 85 pickup...

Here is what i came up with.

I found these cup holders at pic n pull.
http://

I traced the outline of the cup holders on the console lid and cut it out.
http://

I placed the cup holder into the console lid and screwed it down.
http://

Then i used JB Weld to fill in the gap around were i cut the lid and then painted it.

The color is all wrong. Besides everyone knows that Lite-On make the best cup holders.

this thread might prove useful for both the truck and our BMW. Can you believe a $45,000 car in 1992 didn't come with any cup holder whatsoever?

It's a conversation often had on Saab forums. Saabs do have them now, but not for a long time. My '94 9000 Aero doesn't have any and it was $106,000. in '94.

There's the usual thread where someone from the U.S complains about no cup holders, likening it to a pub with no beer and "how can this be" and "wtf am I gonna do now, my life is ruined". Followed by someone from across the pond questioning the reason why anyone would want to bring food and drink into their cars. It usually ends with "pffft!" or "whatever".

Most people end up with some kind of din solution or console cassette in the 9000.

When they did start to include them, they did it with style

our creation....using a little $1 wooden box, made wire access from the bottom for the rear window.....made a cup-holder using a rim from a large flashlight and a the bottom 3'' from a Pringles can wrapped in baseball bat grip tape. secured a piece of thick plywood to the floor then secured the box to that. oh, and it's a hinged box that is still functional to access the wires if needed.

^^^^EXCELLENT SHORT TERM FIX^^^^

I bought these at O'Reilly's for $5 each and they fit perfectly width-wise in the map pocket. They are about an inch too short, but next to my Leatherman its a perfect & snug fit.

Forward cupholder gets in the way of the manual window crank if there is a drink in it though.

Relocated rear window and wiper switches to dash, removed switch bezel from console, inserted a piece of plastic pipe with a cap attached (I used 4” lightweight drain pipe), secured with a self tap screw through the bottom. Holds up to a 1.5 liter AquaFina bottle no problem.
