Hey, I'm new here so be nice to me. Actually I've been reading the tech posts here for awhile now, but finally decided to join.
Here's my issue. I bought a 1994 four wheel drive truck in January. It's been in my shop since then, just fixing all the little things that need to be done to a truck with 300k miles on it. I was checking all the lights today and found the third brake light isn't working. Tracing the wires back I found them in the left kick panel near the fuse block. They are white/black and green/white and end in a white plug. There doesn't seem to be anyplace to connect the plug to. Looking closely at the fuse block I found some writing on it that makes me believe the fuse block has been replaced, maybe from an older model that didn't have the third brake light. I need to make the light work to avoid tickets and being rear-ended!
If anyone can tell me what's missing, or where to connect the wires I'd appreciate it.
W-B is ground, and G-W is switched battery for all the brake ("Stop") lights. The connector you're looking for is IJ1:
If you don't have that connector on your harness, all you need to do is get W-B to ground somewhere, and G-W to the other G-W wires. The GW wires come from the stop light switch, and then go through a splice on the way to the back. Just pick it up any place convenient.
