1994 4Runner 3VZ-E #3 and #5 Misfire

Greetings,
I am fully stumped. I purchased a 1994 4Runner 3VZ-E auto about 6 months ago. The truck was imported to Canada from Seattle by the previous owner and there is zero rust on it, which is why I bought it. It also had zero compression in the number 5 cylinder. Although it came with a spare engine, it was an earlier 3VZ, so I decided to rebuild the one that was in the truck. All rebuild parts were bought from YotaShop and LCE. On first start, it was running rough, and very rich. My eyes were burning, even with the shop door wide open. I tried to adjust the timing, but couldn't get it to smooth out. I began pulling wires from the distributor and found that removing the wires from cylinder number 3 and number 5 had no effect. Removing any of the other wires made the engine stall or run worse. I have tested for, and confirmed spark at all cylinders. I pulled the plugs and number 3 and 5 smelt like fuel. All of the original injector plugs were cracked or broken, so cut them off and installed new ones with solder connectors and heat shrink. I rechecked my wiring and all seems fine. I also checked the plugs with a test light. The light lit up on all the plugs, so I assume they're okay? Multi meter read the same for all plugs (sorry, can't remember the reading). All injectors were at 15 ohms except #3 (13 ohms) so I swapped it out for a new (old) one. All injectors clicked when I hook them to a battery. Compression test checked out - between 166 to 174 throughout. Does good compression rule out a valve issue? The machine shop said that the valves and cams were is good shape. I regret not checking the valve clearances or having a closer look at the heads when I had everything apart. I used ARP studs on the rebuild and I'm not sure I can get the heads off without pulling the studs out. Along the way, I've replaced the TPS and checked the timing belt and confirmed all marks still line up. The good news is that I've had the upper intake off so many times that I now have the vacuum lines memorized. The bad news is that I'm out of fuel line crush washers. Please, please tell me that I've missed something really simple. Any help you folks can offer is truly appreciated.
