1992 Toyota pickup won’t start after reconnecting battery
Hi all, I just finished bodywork and painting on my 1992 Toyota automatic transmission pick up. I installed that battery and tried to start it. All the lights come on like it is going to start, it started to turn on and then it quit and a little red light on the dash on the left hand side of of the steering wheel. Is this an anti theft device? If so, how do you bypass it so I can get my pickup started. Than you for your time in this matter.

As far as I can see there was no factory anti-theft systems offered on these trucks. Did you test the battery to make sure it's in good condition and has a full charge? If it's the one that was in it & you pulled it to do the body work, and it's been sitting it could be low. Also if it's over 3 years old you could be due for a new one anyway. At least take it to a parts store for them to test, most of them do it free. Otherwise, check all you ground wires/cables & make sure all your connections are clean & tight. It's usually the basic things.
