1992 rear window new motor gear stuck
New to this forum. I have a 92 4runner put a new window motor in works fine if I unscrew bolts and play around with the gears but when put all back together won't go up or down. It was off the track and still not going up or down. Could it be the Gears? Thanks for any help/

How did you check the new motor? or is it brand new? Also a common problem with the rear window is a little relay box. Its housed behind the left utility box in the back area of the 4runner. I have had my 1990 4runner for 12 years and have had to replace this once. Also there is a rubber like clutch disk on the window motor mount. It looks like two large 3" washers joined by a rubber housing. If the rubber inside is tore when you go to run your window up you will hear the motor running but the gears won't work. I forget the part number but you can either pick one up at the junk yard or bolt it together. If you drill and tap the two washers and bolt them together just be carfull to stop when your window is rolled up otherwise it can mess with the window motor. Below is a link where the rear window relay is located.

motor works
Thanks I unscrewed the back and put the gears of the whole window inside the door and the window went up and half way down. It was off one track when screwing it back to the door the window did not move. Could it be the gears of the whole unit. The motor is fine and the releay.
