1991 4Runner 1JZ Engine Conversion
Hi, looking for some information regarding an engine swap. Considering replacing the 22R in my Australian built RN130 4Runner with a 1JZ engine from a Soarer front cut.
The car has the G series 5 speed transmission.
Yes I have read some other threads on here regarding this type of swap, but my series or other "minor" specifics were not covered in the thread. So I thought I would post and see if someone has done this to a 1991 4 cyl petrol 4Runner.
Mainly looking for answers regarding the sump to use, whether the 1JZ will bolt to that transmission, clutch and flywheel options.
The car is RHD so the brake booster is on that side. Will this affect fitment?
Thanks in advance, Rob.

What about the 1JZ clutch?
I see lots of info but nothing regarding the clutch. I have a 87 4runner with a 2nd gen 1JZ and 4runner v6 tranny with 1jz bellhousing. I bought a HD clutch and flywheel for a 1JZ and it does not fit. Should I have gotten a 4runner clutch? I bought this project at the end and I'm lost.
