just an FYI, 600 bucks sounds reasonable for installing valves and setting everything up in the head... the 3.0 heads are a pain in the arse to get the valves adjusted right and take a major amount of time to do... now couple that with the fact that your being charged by the grossly overstated dealership mechanic and their labor rates and its just about right...

i say, get the aftermarket head and have them install it...

also, find out why the head cracked in that particular spot... tell tehm you want to see the head, and you want to see where the head mates up to the block... maybe even take some pics and post them here so we could see...

never have i ever heard of a 3.0 cracking a cylinder head, let alone between the 2&3 cylinders... doesnt get enough heat there, but like i said, get some pics, and get your own eyes on that so called crack...

They probably cracked it when they dropped it in the shop....
