If done correctly, it shouldnt chip, scuff or scratch. We'll see. I'll grab some pics later.

Got the interior back together. Came out pretty nice.

I decided to dye/paint the steering wheel. I'm pretty skeptical to see if it holds. I scrubbed the crap out of it with mean green. I scuffed it with a scotchbrite, then wipe it down with alcohol. i also warmed the can in hot water prior to painting. I even heated it wheel with the heat gun. If it lasts a year or two, ill be happy, if not ill just buy a grant or something.

Took the graphics off, much better.

I def gotta do the rearview, that one is so weathered you can scrape the plastic to dust. I will just paint my grey one and replace it.

I saw a partout ad on craigslist, it was at an auto recycling center. Yes, it was a cash for clunker truck, i guess thats where they end up, and if no parts are sold, the crush it. i tried to buy the whole truck, but that wasnt allowed. Part of the deal is that truck can never be back on the road.

Nice job on your swap! I used to like that red interior, it's pretty rare. Maybe for a reason lol... My SR5 interior has manual windows too, I didn't think it was that rare.
I like your conversion to black interior, if you change your seats try to find some old school GTI or GLI Recaro seats that are black, I bet that would look sweet!

Damn that looks pretty good. I'd be interested to see how dying the carpet would turn out hah. I've always wanted to dye my interior black. I have a 4runner though, alot more plastic. and such

Thanks.

F&&k that on the recaros, those veedub guys would want more than my truck is worth for those seats. There are nice, but i want to keep my 60/40 bench. i'm thinking about maybe some seat covers.
I saw these on ebay http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/1989-...Q5fAccessories
anyone ever use these from this company?

You should be just fine with those seat covers. Choices for the 60/40 are pretty slim, so get what you can.

I had a 60/40 bench in my DLX until I swapped it out for some 91 SR5 buckets. The bench seat hurt my lower back. Although it was really nice to have 5 passenger seating, the back pain on longer drives was enough to get me to change to buckets.

Here's a site I found for bench seat covers when I was looking:
http://www.gtcovers.com/seat-covers/...at-covers.html
