1990 manual trans with 1994 22RE motor, what is needed
Hey guys, I am swapping a 1994 22RE motor (used to be paired to an automatic) into my truck with a 1990 5 speed manual trans. I am wondering what all I need in order to do this? The motor is coming out of a complete donor truck so I will be taking all of the wiring harness/ecu but I want to make sure the trans will bolt up to the motor no problem. Also, will the flywheel out of my 1990 motor work for the 1994 motor? The 1994 motor came out of a truck with an automatic. Thanks in advance for any and all help!

To make this easy use the engine harness and ECU from your 5 speed you might have to swap some sensors as well when the new engine goes in nothing electrical should be on.You would need to look at both EWD`s to see if the igniter and distributor wiring is the same if your not sure use the 1990 igniter and distributor
Myself new flywheel bolts cut flywheel and complete new clutch kit unless the clutch was new last week.
if your going to try dropping the engine in with the transmission installed you want at least three people two on the bottom and one to raise and lower it can be done alone but it takes forever right side lower left side back to the right repeat for a very long time.
Best of Luck.
