if your just swapping thirds quickly you can also leave the brakes connected, and undo the bolts that hold the line to the axle and pull the shafts out far enough to pull the third out.
Sometimes it does matter and when I was still working at a shop I was always told to mark the flanges. Always did, never had any vibration issues. It just takes an extra second with a paint pen, punch or marker.

Good write up. And nice use of jackstands. Its nice to know there are people smart enough to still use them.

If only swapping the axle seals was so easy I think my diff seal AND my axle seals are leaking

It's easy!

Recommend using Toyota fipg RED when you seal it up. Check your breather to see if it's clogged while you're down there. May also want to replace axle seals while they are out.
