1986 Pickup - Need to remove and plug Rear Brake Lines, Need help...
Hey Guys,
I have and 86 Toyota pickup 4x4 sr5 XtraCab with @ 250K. She runs fine but the rear brake line rusted thru right behind the gas tank and after taking a look at under the truck the frame is severly rusted and is not safe to drive on the street IMHO, plus the inspection is past due so I would like to just use this as my farm/yard motorized wheelbarrow.
Question is how can I remove/disconnect the rear lines from the master cylinder and block the hole from the removal of the rear line? Do they sell special bolts or brake part kits for this? or do you guys have any innovative ideas?
Thanks

In the past I have taken a flare nut with a short piece of line and silver soldered it closed.
You need the line so it seals
Then just bolt it into the rear brake port of the master cylinder.
Tig welding works as well
I am sure if you look you could find a plug that works
I never really took the time when I needed it I could not wait.
