1986 4runner back glass
PO shattered the rear glass that goes up and down. Im guessing its going to be stupid expensive to put glass back in it anyone know if they make a plastic glass cover thing like the Jeeps have?

a plastic cover for the rear glass? not sure i know what your talking about, but there are soft top kits on the market that do not require the rear glass because they have vinyl windows (killer toy tops and Softopper)

I doubt Lakeland can get the glass new. Their epc lists everything, even discontinued. I'd run the part number through another source, like toyotapartsdeal.com or McGeorge Toyota online parts.
I would never try and ship a piece of glass, especially one that large. But if you can think of a way to get cross country lmk.

If you get a Toyota back glass it helps to have a second person help support the glass while it’s horizontal. If too much of the glass is out of the tailgate while flat it will shatter if just left hanging

Just my experience, for what it's worth. I still have the factory glass in my 4Runner all the way around. Someday I'll need to replace the windshield, though. It's pretty badly pitted from 20 years in Yuma, Az, from sand-storms. Welcome to Yuma. heh...

I still think it’s best to support, especially if you’ve gone through hell to find a replacement. I’ve only seen one break, but it was a drag.
