Yukon 5.29 with Zip Locker clearance issues
So I'm finally getting around to installing my pair of Yukon 5.29 thirds with Zip Lockers, and I'm having some issues getting the rear third (haven't worked my way to the front yet) to go into the axle housing.˟ The factory third popped right out, but the new one doesn't seem to clear.˟ I can't really tell if it's the ring gear itself that's hitting the housing, or if it's the side plates (I'm not entirely sure that's what they're called, but it's the pair of three inch-ish rings that have about sixteen holes around the perimeter, a locking tab, and it would be the first piece the axle shafts go into.) Has anyone else run into this problem?˟ As near as I can tell, I either need to clearance something, or I'm not lining it up right.˟ I've tried about a dozen times now, and it just won't go.˟ It looks like the little brass air line that actuates the locker is getting marred up a little bit, but nothing too serious. I should also mention that this is a V6 third, though from everything I've read, this shouldn't make a difference.˟ So, I guess my real question is, if anyone has had to clearance something, what was it?

I should also note that the entire third was ordered assembled and set up from Marlin Crawler. I think it's safe to assume that takes third member assembly errors out of the equation.

Got it sorted. Had to widen the notches, in addition to clearancing just above and just below the 3 o'clock and 9 o'clock positions for the side plates to slide through. Good to go!

A momentous day in my YotaTech life: A response from Wabbit! I was a little nervous to get started on the grinding, but once I saw the third going in a little further each time, I knew I was on the right track. Side note for Wabbit, you have my manual hubs in your mailbox! I'm the punk that didn't buy my hub gears from you

Where can I find more info on installing these? I just ordered a v6 5.29 w/ zip locker and a high pinion 5.29 w/zip locker for my '85 and I want to install it as fast as possible.
FYI, I'm overseas right now and I blew my rear end about a week before I deployed, so once I get back to the states shortly, I'll need to have at least the rear done so I can get around.

Checkout the thread I just made on this. Has some photos that should help give you an idea.
