Whats this plug for?

I was putting my dash back together and there is a blue plug in the radio bezel area that when I plug it back together it blows a fuse?

It blows the fuse for the door buzzer, turn signal and I'm sure a few more things. Anybody know off hand what it is for?

Okay... I'm not 100% sure due to little knowledge of your runner, but some of the sr5 models came with the super sweet radios, that had amped speakers front and rear.. I'm assuming yours did being a turbo, I'm thinking that runs your rear speakers located behind the rear trim panels in the hatch area.. it's been so long since I had mine apart. are your rear quarters rusty? salt, water, mud, etc. could've gotten to the connections at the speaker and caused them to short, Or, the short could quite possibly be anywhere in the routing of the wires thus blowing the fuse when power is sent to them....Anyone second that?

I'll take a closer look tomorrow I just didn't have time before work today. Everything still seems to work fine without it plugged in so I guess I shouldn't worry.

As for being speaker wires, could be. My truck was a lower end model though, I swapped the turbo engine in.

Anyway thanks for the replys, and keep the ideas coming.

It looks like a speaker plug. two - and two +

Can you put the wire colors for each plug? Then use wiring Diagram in Service Manual.

I think you are right. My 84 had that stock Toyota stereo with equalizer and stuff on it when I first owned it. It worked great until I had to jumpstart the truck and somehow that fried the radio. Anyway, when I went to replace the headunit, a few stereo shops told me the same thing so I slowly went about replacing all of the speakers and the stereo as I saved up money.
