I just installed the oil pressure sender the one that goes on the side of the block. I got it from pepboys for around 40 bucks. Funny thing is I hooked it up were everyone says not to hook it up and now it works... I think or did I just complete the circuit and it will act like it is working? When I turn the truck on it goes up and when I turn it off it slowly goes back down.
A-ron do you have a online vendor for the TC kit? Should I just go to the dealer?

I just re-read the valve adjustment procedures and noticed the 22r is 0 degrees TDC and the 22re is 5degrees BTDC. i did not set it to 5 degrees BTDC I used 0 degrees TDC. Do you think that could cause more noise than usual? I'll have to re do it tomorrow.

BTW: what kind of exhaust setup you got on that, it sounds pretty good.

carb'd 22r uses vacuum advance, 22re uses electronic advance thats why you have to jump terminals to cancel the electric advance to set the timing

That's correct, and you also need to remove and block off the hoses to a carb'd dizzy. But this is not why the timing specs are different.

I saw the 5 degree btdc in the factory service manual I got on the web.
I'll post a video of the exhaust tomorrow. I'm not going to lie it sounds pretty badass. I have know idea what kind of muffle it is the PO put it on there.

So what you're saying is that when you set the engine to BTDC while adjusting the valves you're supposed to put it at 5* not 0*? Not the timing but while youre adjusting the valves?

no. crack goes to TDC on the 0 mark on the #1 compression stroke not the exhaust stroke, you will know it's compression stroke because the #1 intake and exhaust valves will be loose.
ignition timing is completely different.

I just double checked and on page MA-7 in the factory service manual it states 0 degrees TDC for tuning a hot engine. I was looking at tuning a cold engine during rebuild. I'm not sure if it makes a difference.

not for valves, not for ignition timing. hot or cold the crank gets put at TDC #1 compressionand and the ignition timing would still be 5 BTDC. with the diagnostic port jumpered.
