Squeaky seat is driving me nuts
My bench seat is get really squeaky, It to the point where it is pissing me off to the point I want to install a bean bag to sit on. All the bolts are tight, all the rubber bumpers look good. What is making the noise.
The whole truck is sound matted inside.

Mine squeaks sometimes from the lever that keeps the back latched. Make sure it is latched tight. If it will not latch tight, maybe put something back there that will keep it tight. If that is not it, then take the seat out and put a little WD-40 on anything that could squeak.

It's probably the internal (or underneath) steel springs squeaking. If a spring is squeaky there's no way to quiet it. Think about an old mattress/box spring.
My clutch pedal return spring squeaks like crazy, but I only drive the beater a couple times a month so I just deal with it.

If it is like the 4Runner, there will be a piece mounted to the floor pan the seat bolts to that can break loose over the years.
A complete WAG, but pull up the trim piece on the door sill and the floor covering to check and see if the spot welds holding that piece in place have broken loose. There isn't much holding them in as scary as that sounds.
Like I said, a total guess, but it is something that happens on 4Runners from that same period.

I found out the seat tracks are worn-out. So I took a small wooden door shims and hammered them in between the tracks so no more noise.
I feel guilty, because this is the first time of done something so for a repair.
I plan to toss the seats and buy some Recaros at a later date. The only way I would take SR5 seats is if they were free.
