Speedo Cable Tab?

How is this tab supposed to go against the speedo drive sleeve? I assumed it was to rest against the raised part of the sleeve but when I torque it down it bends the tab. Is it supposed to sit on the side of the raised part? Should I just not tighten as much?

The drives I have seen have a notch machined into them that the flat tab goes into.

This controls the depth the drive can be inserted, both in and out.

Oh I see! It was on top from the PO, maybe that’s why my speedo went out. Notch is probably underneath the raised part.
