i dont think 84 or 85 had the auto as an option.. you sure its not newer thats been sas'ed?

new heads arent that hard to find. you're looking at a couple hundred to got it back up and running.

I'm fairly sure a guy i knew from a job quite a few years ago had a 84 with a auto. had solid axle, 85/84 body style.

My truck, according to the guy I bought it is an '85, and I've been hesitant to believe him. First, the interior is brown, and I've seen a lot of brown 86's, hardly any 85's with that. And, my Runner was originally an auto, it still has the little light up box in the dash for overdrive.

I own an 85 ext cab EFI AUTOMATIC.

It WAS all stock. Now not so much.

And speaking from experience, don't just put a new head or rework it and not check the rest of it out...I got an 87 sitting in my shop right now that I wasted a bunch of $$$ on that I could have just rebuilt the whole damn engine by now to begin with and have come out way cheaper.

My buddy also has an Auto that was stock. It was indeed an option starting in 1984.
