Shackle lift 85 pickup

Wasn't sure where to post this but I am looking to do a shackle lift on my 85 to clear 33s and was wondering how big I can go without causing issues (like messing up the pinion angle, axle wrap, etc..)

Does not look like anyone knows the answer. Looks like you may need to experiment to discover what the limits are, and post about it. Get some cheap plate steel and drill several holes to test what does and does not work.

What size tires are you rolling right now?I like the look of yours and the height is right around where I want it.

I bought a truck with a massive lift and I am looking to take most of it out because 6.5" shackles (eye to eye) on 35"s tires just aint doing it for me.

Before I get flack, the truck came like this. 6.5" shackles and 5" blocks.

2.5 shackle lift will work no problems. I did the same thing to my 85 4X4 pickup back in the day. Its the cheapest way to lift the truck. You might have to adjust your steering bar though.

Anyone know what lift springs will work without having to convert to hy steer right away? Thanks! I haven't been able to dig up in the search bar of the exact answer I'm looking for. Most of what I've Seen as long as I'm not going over 5 in of lift I'll be OK . just need a drop drag link which I can fab my self until I get my taxes
