Unhappy Rust in floor pan, need suggestions

OK so we pulled up the floormat and what we thought was a small spot from the bottom actually turned out to be huge. As my son is on a budget I am considering a cutout and fiberglass for now. Any thoughts on this idea? At least untill we can replace the floor pan or the entire rear of the body, there is rust on the fenders also and I figured we could glass them also.
It looks like the body is bent lower on this area and that caused the rust to start? not sure though, might be time for new bushings and a 1" BL.

At this point any suggestions would be greatly appreciated since this was a major downer for us. Just looking for an economical repair till we can fix it the right way. and FWIW we do not have a welder and it is not in the budget at this time. ...should have fixed the rust first.

Well being an ole country boy I like road signs.Awfully easy to find. I prefer the road kilt varity, easy to get in the truck quick . Nice and thick aluminum. Easy to beat close to shape. Then caulk well with body sealant, and rivet in place. The bad part here looks like the body mount is gone. Maybe find a body in the upullit and cut a section out with a cordless sawzall. shape it , get things cleaned up then take it to a good body shop to have it welded in once you have it where you want it. some rivets will hold it long enough to get to the shop. And an hour or so of stick time shouldnt be hugely expensive.
Just an idea

lol.. Do the bullet holes cause any problems? I bet they would make good patch panels. I can smile when I on my ticket. Kinda makes me feel I paid for them now.

rich...in all honesty its not that bad. ive seen alot worse. not really on toyotas, but on old muscle cars that i restore. if you want a semi-permenant fix, you could just put tape on the back sides of the holes, and patch it up with plastix. its some sort of filler, sort of like bondo, and comes in the exact same way as bondo does. comes in a can, with a tube of hardner. its alot tougher and flexible than bondo, and works great. i use it on just about every hole i have to fill that doesnt call for welding in new panels on my muscle cars.

so you have that option for your other holes. as for the body mount, i'd get that one fixed the right way the first time, asap. shop around and ask. see if someone's willing to help you out a bit.

I agree that the mount is critical. Since salvageyards here in NY don't seem to have any vehicles past 8 to 10 years old any suggestions on finding a cutout for replacement? It would realy be nice to find the entire section, center floor to repair both sides at once, since it needs to be done. Any idea what I should pay for a good used replacement floor pan including both mounts?

Where do you get the Plastix, never heard of it before, might be worth trying, at least on minor stuff.

Thanks

LOL But I'm not that desperate yet...

We have put alot of his budget in the clean-up, axles, brakes, and steering with a bit more needed. So I guess I need to find someone with a parts vehicle willing to cut this section out?

Anybody out there have a solid left side body mount section? If so PM.

Thanks
