Some options:

1. Remove steel sleeve in existing bushing, viola hole = 18mm ID.

2. Replace rubber with poly bushings and omit the sleeve and hole = 18mm:

3. Get some '83 or earlier springs and they use bushings w/ 18mm holes

4. Weld plates over spring hangers and drill 14mm (9/16") holes in them.

5. Cut off spring hangers and replace with hangers with 14mm holes:

6. Take the funky OEM front spring hanger pins and have a machine shop turn down the 18mm section to the 14mm threaded dia. that is on the ends.

Thanks for quick reply! Where can I purchase 40mm bushings that have a 18mm hole? That press in to the spring?

See #2 above.

The large 40mm OD bushings are used in some spring eyes on the later trucks
In OEM form, these bushings have an inner and outer sleeve and are pressed into the spring eye and need to be cut or pressed out to replace.
The bushings have a removeable inner sleeve to allow use of either 14mm (9/16") or 18mm (3/4") hardware
Cost is $20/pr.

Dang when your title said "RUF" I thought you maybe owned a RUF... I almost peed myself thinking I could come to the bay area (from Sacto) and see it in real life...

RUF = EXTREMELY upgraded Porsche, to the extent that they are considered their own car manufacturer... AKA Bassinfool's dream car.

Anyway sorry to hijack your thread I just had to share the beauty that is RUF.

RUF is actually the name of the owner/creator of the company. Alois Ruf, Sr started a little garage, Jr. then made it a performance shop in the 70s.

A BFH will get the sleeves out. If they are bonded to the rubber, then ur effed. Replacement time....

1. Heat them up to the point the rubber they are bonded to starts to melt and then press them out.

2. See if you can get a hack saw blade inside and cut outwards to split them in 2 or more segments and then try to remove each piece.

better get new bushings now, cus the ones in there aren't gonna come out in two pieces. lol. Only problem running the no bushing way is you have to be extremely careful not to overtighten the bolts. Torque specs go out the window too. Nyloc nuts or those capture type nuts should be used to lock the bolt otherwise you'll have problems with it wanting to back itself off.

Yeah maybe we should take our Porsche lust to another thread... sorry guys.

I've never actually heard the term DP Porsches. I know the 935 Slope well, but that is a first for me. I'll have to read up on them.
