Rod Through Block

just wanted to say that today 11-27-08 I put a connecting rod through the block of my truck (22r) and it still started and ran... what an incredible motor.

Hah! I have a block already been to the machine shop and rough bored to the 1.5 mm pistons (don't want to finish the cylinders and hone until you have the exact pistons you want) I'll take $115 plus shipping!

Just finished my buildup after the same problem at the same location. It is in an 84 runner and still ran and drove short, short distances. I upgraded to an 85-95 22r and junked the air pump and emissions crap and put a new style a/c bracket and pulley on it. I had to grind off the top left a/c bracket bolt area to get the old stle compressor to mount up. Anyways the fresh build fired up today and runs like a top. Check your water pump "in" metal piping that bolts up there. I bet you have a hole in it. Good luck with your build Hastings rings all the way
