RN65 frame found, what would you do with it?

Video of me pulling it out: https://www.instagram.com/reel/C8rwxy9pwFH/?igsh=MzRlODBiNWFlZA==

I’ve seen it for over a decade in the hills near my home. It was destined for the landfill soon if it was left there - as a housing development is pushing towards where it sat. As far as I can tell everything except the final exhaust hanger was unbolted. It’s been in the hot arid desert for a very long time. As you can tell in the close up shot of the frame model, the rust is very thin. What would you do with this?

I think it would mostly depend on the condition of the steel and what you mean by thin. Toyota frames are generally thin anyways, and probably why they box them. Wasn't there somebody on here--not too far back-- looking for a good 4x4 frame that live back east somewhere?

what I mean is the rust is minimal. It’s not rotted anywhere

Should be worth something i would assume aside from it being abandoned and possibly stolen? Maybe run the number on the frame through your local DMV and see what comes up

I called the local PD before pulling the chassis. I could not locate a 17 digit number anywhere on the frame. I did not find a spot where it had been ground off either. I did find RN65-5081773. They said that is not the vin it does not pull up any info. I was told that a vin should be on there but I could not locate it. I was also told that during inspections the vin is usually taken from the body shell.

Where else could I look to find the actual vin? What is the 11 digit one for?

If you called them then I would log that down somewhere and enjoy your new-ish frame

I have no idea what to do with it. Ideally I’d love to build it but I just don’t think that’s a probable dream of mine without a real shop.

Reply to the thread Arick.93 started instead. Also, maybe post the frame in the yotatech classifieds. I think it says you have to have 15 posts before posting to classifieds, but I just saw someone post with only 2 posts.
