Oil Filter (Not brand, Sizes used)

Oil Filter (Not brand, Sizes used)
I am not going to list this thread to start another 'this brand is better than that brand' - all I wanted to know is what SIZE filter do you use (and what not to use!)
Example: In this example I will use 'Fram' because they are so widely know. For a 22RE, I know Fram calls for a PH3614 stock. However I know that a PH16 and a PH8 also work. Do you run the larger filters to provide more filtering/oil cooling? Or do you stick with the stock size?
Thanks!
John

I run a normal size filter. I go with car quest premium because its basically like oem replacement. I know you dont care to hear about what filter is better but when i switch from a fram that came on my truck when i bought it to car quest filters, my engine ran quieter and i noticed a little more pressure on the gauge.

Well, I know that there are many bad things Fram has against it. I just wondered what size was being used by the masses. Yes, it is a 'Oversized Filter' thread - however initially, I couldn't think of the proper term to use to do a search - so I decided to throw out the fishing line and see what I got.
Please don't think I won't take recommendations for this filter brand is better. I just didn't want people to think I was starting another 'What brand filter is best....' and break out the stick to
I had to throw this one on cause it was rockin!

I run the tundra v8 one on my 22r. Holds more oil and i use a factory filter for the one way valve. The reason id say dont run anything other then factory is they have a valve to keep all the oil from running out i have been told. on start up it keeps the chain from slapping the timing cover and killing it. I noticed my starts in the morning to be quiet compared to anything else. My oil also takes longer to get dirty. The last few changes have been really clean and not as much muck in the pan. The filter is black tho so im sure its doing its job.

I run a remote with a PH8. I got tired of removing my skid plate and spilling oil everywhere. I still have to make a shield for it, for obvious reasons. I think the added lines, filter size and volume provide some extra cooling.

Hey, James
You did get oil rated hose, didn't you? That looks similar to heater hose (not rated for oil or hi pressure) Just don't want you or others to blow a hose and ruin an engine.

Holds around 1/3 qt, and has more filter media that most other crappy filters, which means better filter density, better oil system priming = better bearing longevity.

It is oil rated. Actually 300psi and 500 degrees. I thought the same thing when I saw that it was red. I doubled checked when I bought it.
