Is an oil cooler really neccessary?

sort of - Im running an OBERG 6" commercial filer instead of an oil filter.
use an oil filter adapter with AN hoses to the filter which has be relo'd to the front fender area (in front of the wheel). It acts as a pseudo cooler. Have a therostadt to plumb in line but after running a temp guage, decided I didnt need to add the cooler.

I guess I'll do a search for B&M or some other brand aftermarket. Can't really afford another $415. Price has doubled already for this orig. HG job.

yea we usually have winters...I'm sure they'll come back sooner or later...w/thermostadt....got it. you know now that I look at the diagram off alldata looks like it may run coolant through..I'll try and post the diagram..I guess it is a heat exchanger type

well I can't seem to post the diagram but it looks like either coolant or oil flows from one tube into the cooler then back out into the block.
