Exclamation new bed floor ideas

well in my 84 pickup the floor of the bed is rusted out so i wanna replace it but i cant find any online. so after some thinking my dad came up with the idea to make one useing aluminum dimondplate. has anyone else done this or at least replaced theirs? i dont want a whole new bed because the quarter pannels and interrior bed pannels just got striped and primered and everything. i just need the bottom floor.

if you have a good source for diamondplate, go for it. it's strong and good for this kind of thing. it's also really dang expensive, from what i've seen. were you planning on ripping out the entire bed, or just screwing this down to hide and provide a new surface?

is it really that expensive? for diamond plate? i was going to replace the floor not just cover it up. i dont know where i would get it or who would weld it but i thought it would look cool and be strong enough to not worry about for a while

hmm... I know some of you aren't a fan of pirate4x4.com but if you want some good ideas on beds i reccomend checking them out, the search is down right now but the google search works just as well if not better. Use the advanced search and put there web address in the box provided for the domain and put whatever keywords in the boxes at the top.
